Makayla turned two yesterday. We celebrated tonight because Amy had the day off of work today.
Amy brought over this cute cake from Baskin Robbins.
Scary Megan lit the candles
and discovered that lighters burn that pesky hair right off your arms.
Hailey demonstrated correct "candle blowing-out technique"
which Makayla accomplished with only a few waterfalls of spit.
She was pretty proud of herself!
Makayla is a delicate eater.
Makes you wonder why she's only in the 25th percentile for height and weight.
Makayla holding up fingers to show us how old she is. Yeah, she's padding the number a little. Don't worry-in just a couple of decades, she'll be shaving some of those extra years off.

Next, Makayla was more than happy to move on to the "opening presents" part of the evening.
and Hailey was more than happy to help.
In fact, Hailey was willing to do all the unwrapping.
It stinks when it's your sister's birthday and all the presents are for her.
Makayla likes the birthday doll. Amy is glad Makayla's talking baby doll has an off switch.
Hmm. I wonder if MY baby has an off switch. Or an on switch. Or a be nice to your mom switch. Or a stay away from boys switch.

That is an amazing cake. I think I might be jealous, I didn't get a cake like that when I was two. Got any leftovers?
Yup, we have leftovers! I'll dig a piece out of the freezer and stick it in the mail for you.
