The tree in the front yard has not a single leaf left on it. Not. Even. One.
Surprise or Predictable?
This is a surprise! Usually the leaves freeze on this tree in ugly clumps sometime in early October. Came April, they all fall to the grass below in even uglier clumps. In a further surprise, we've had the warmest Oct/Nov on record.
Here is Megan, writing a paper on "How Plot Contributes to Making 'Oedipus the King' a Tragedy". She has waited for the 11th hour of the 11th day to start this complex and lengthy paper.

No surprise here, people! Megan gets an A+ in procrastination.
Megan finished her paper with 14 minutes to spare. Surprise or predictable?
Hmm. Yeah. The only surprise here is that she had even a second to spare.
Megan got a job at Old Navy.

Well, I was surprised until I heard she gets a 50% discount at Old Navy, Gap, and Banana Republic. Then I moved this one over to the predictable column.
Makayla loves Grandma's cooking.

Not surprising at all. Not only am I a fabulous (and humble) cook, Makayla eats anything and everything she can get her hands on. Tonight she was feeding herself oatmeal in between the bites of rice/cashew chicken I was spooning in.
Hailey hates my cooking.

Sadly, not surprising. Hailey only likes food that have the words "chocolate" or "forbidden" in their title.
Hailey knows why Makayla's hair doesn't grow very fast.

Well, I was surprised.
Hailey announced, unsolicited, "Makayla's hair isn't growing cause her brain doesn't push it out. Your brain pushes your hair out. I don't think Makayla has brains."
I'm betting Makayla is going to find that surprising as soon as her brain can figure out what Hailey's talking about.

So does Megan's discount apply to family members?
She says she doesn't know yet, but I'm pretty sure Gap would love to see the whole Jones family come in and take advantage of that discount, don't you think?
Or Megan can pretend she is buying clothes for herself then send them to me?! Congrats Meg on your 1st job!

That is a pretty sweet first job megster! I think it only applies to favorite siblings. So meg I would like a new pair of jeans and a scarf from Gap, thanks!
