Warning: Blogs about Megan are long.
These shoes look so comfortable with their 5" heels. If I ever decide to walk across the plains, I'm totally going to wear these shoes. Tonight these shoes are going to Twirp!
Megan popped out of bed like a spring this morning. Where is this girl on school days? She got her hair done in this adorable updo,
she got her nails done,
Finally Megan was coiffed, manicured, waxed, and dressed. Isn't she gorgeous?
Do I have to let her out of the house?
Megan took my new baby and headed over to her friend's house with all of the other girls in the group. There they were picked up by a limousine, which then drove to each boy's house to pick up then up.
Warning: These next several pictures are of marginal quality. It was dark, there were tons of moms, dads, and siblings, making it hard to get a good shot. And I have a cheap camera. And I have no picture taking skills to speak of.
The limousine brought them all back to the friend's house, where we were waiting to take pictures.
Here's the group--6 girlfriends and their dates.

What a cute group of friends!

The next stop is the church. The girls were up late last night decorating the stage with lights. They even strung dozens and dozens of lights across the stage ceiling--it was amazing. I want to know who got Megan to do so much work and how they did it.
One of the girl's mom and grandma decorated the table.
They used those fake candles.
It was beautifully done.
The other moms provide the food. We made Spinach and Strawberry Salad.
The main dish was an apricot glazed chicken breast with mashed potatoes and gravy. We parents served food and cleared the table as they finished.
The dessert was chocolate dipped raspberries and strawberries.
Why would you go to a restaurant when you can have this much fun?
The weather was amazing today. We hit a record high of 73 degrees. The limo picked them up from the church after dinner. The plan was for them to drive around for a couple of hours, then go to the dance. After the dance they will go to one of the girl's houses and play games, watch tv, and eat. The parents cleaned up the church and came home to enjoy our extra hour of daylight savings time sleep.
Stan and I came home to get our box of tissues out as we experience our
VERY LAST TWIRP, EVER, EVER EVER!

Wow...Megan looks gorgeous! And as always Modest is hottest ;-) I had to throw that one in! Looks like it was a fun night and the dinner and table looked very pretty!
Dang, Chris, I would not let that gorgeous girl out of your sight. How wise to be "helping" at the dinner. Perhaps Stan was "helping" to drive the limo?
Megan is way too cute! I especially love her dress and hair! I had to laugh about the wax! & what trusting parents to let her drive your new car! I hope she had a fun night!
What is a TWIRP (other than a pushover)?
Twirp: The Woman Is Responsible to Pay. It's our girl's ask dance.
Looks like a fun evening, even for the parents. I love the beautiful modest dresses. Never heard of waxing a girl's back, though.
I noticed those dresses too! Where did you get them? Nothing for sale like that in California!
What a nice evening all around. Life is going to be dull for you once Meagan graduates.
Most these girls go to Idaho and buy a strapless gown (which is the only style that currently seems to be available), and then for a fee, the store will add straps. That's what we did for Megan's dress. Nice that we can visit Jess and Ash while we are there!
