A Looonnngg Post, All About Megan

During the week of August 3, Megan and her best friend Camille went to EFY in Provo for the
VERY LAST TIME!
At the last minute, Camille's parents decided to use up frequent flyer miles, and these two cuties hopped on a flight.
Megan's favorite Uncle Dave and favorite Aunt Bonnie were kind enough to pick them up from the airport and make sure they were taken care of.  Thanks, guys!! What would we do without you?
I told Megan to get some good pictures of the two of them with Uncle Dave and Aunt Bonnie.  Here's the first one:

This one is good too:

Hmm.  Maybe Megan was trying to save camera memory for the BIG EVENT.

EFY is a great time to make new friends with sharp girls,

cute boys,

and wonderful counselors.

Did I mention Megan met a lot of cute boys?

EFY is also a time for serious reflection

deep meditation

and meeting cute boys.

There are late night pizza parties...
Is it just me, or is Megan's mouth the biggest one there?

...time to let your hair down...

...pop your head off hugs...

...and plenty of cute boys.

It's great to know I can send Megan to EFY and she will meet other quality young women,

have lots of slightly wacky, clean fun,

and meet cute boys who live hundreds of miles away.

Whenever Megan goes places, she always comes home with lots of "interesting" pictures she seems reluctant to explain.
This leaves me, her mother, to interpret the events depicted in those pictures.
So, here we go:

"Nephi Being Tied Up By His Pesky Brothers."

"What Murmuring Looks Like"

"The Evils of Staying Up All Night For a Twilight Marathon"

"The Modern Day Gadianton Robbers"

"We Stripling Warriors Ain't No Wimps"

Hold on, we're getting to the end.
On the last day of EFY, Uncle Dave and Aunt Bonnie once again stepped up and picked Megan and Camille up very early Saturday morning.  Their flight wasn't until later that night, and Dave and Bonnie really went the second mile by taking the girls to Park City for a day of fun.

It was a fun day to end a fun week.
Here's Megan flying down the zip line.

Dave was nice enough to send me a group picture taken at the airport from his phone.
Thank you, David and Bonnie for everything!

On a side note, after attending EFY, Megan has developed an inexplicable desire to visit her sisters.

We're talking about her Idaho sisters, maybe even driving down to the Backman's old haunt, Pocatello, to see what's going on down there.

I'm not really sure why, she WAS just down there a few weeks ago. Hmm.

It's hard to believe this is the last time we'll send a child to EFY

We are going to miss that!

There's nothing as great as the "EFY Glow," is there? Why, they can be wonderful kids for as long as a full week after EFY. Cute girl. Just wonderin'--did she meet any cute boys?

Wow Uncle David and Aunt Bonnie can I drive down to visit sometime?! They are the best! Megan, I take it that cute boy lives in Pocatello? Go ahead and stay at my house, while your at it do you want to buy it from me?! (But remember I have the same rules as Mom and Dad no boys in the house without adult supervision!)

sounds like it was fun! Good to know that Megan got a good spiritual week without distractions from boys. Meg you can come visit me if you want to help me find a job. And my rules are boys are allowed if it's McKay or boys we pick out and again our supervision! Come on down!
